2025 Chubb Bermuda Triangle Challenge – January 17-19, 2025

Want to be part of the excitement of the 2025 Chubb Bermuda Triangle Challenge weekend, but not interested in running? Or do you know of a student who needs to fulfill community service hours for school? Either way, we have you covered! The success of the Chubb Bermuda Triangle Challenge depends, in large part, upon the dedication of volunteers and the excitement they bring to each event.

Volunteer opportunities for the 2025 Chubb Bermuda Triangle Challenge are now available, with more opportunities to be posted in the coming weeks!

Volunteer Opportunities for 2025

ROAD MARSHALS
These are very important positions as these volunteers help the events run smoothly and efficiently. They are our “eyes on the road” and work closely with Sector Captains, the Bermuda Police Service, and the Royal Bermuda Regiment to help ensure the safety of participants at all times.

HOTEL AMBASSADORS & SHUTTLE RUNNERS
Shuttles are provided to hotels to transport runners to all events. More details will be sent to you prior to your shift so you have a list of the shuttle times and runners due to board each shuttle. As BTC Ambassadors and Shuttle Runners, your duties will include greeting runners in the lobby of your assigned hotel, checking their names on the shuttle list, and helping to ensure prompt boarding of each shuttle for a timely departure.

Greeter Marshal at Hamilton Ferry Terminal – Greet marathon runners boarding the ferry to Dockyard, confirm they are not running the half marathon – 5:00am-6:00am

Bag Tent Attendants – Attach tags to runner bags, secure in tent, organise area, retrieve bags in timely manner post-race. Remain until last bag is collected and report any uncollected bags to the race director – 7:00am-9:00am; 9:00am-11:00am; 11:00am-2:00pm

St John Ambulance – St John Ambulance (SJA) will offer free training (16 hrs) CPR/first aid to those wishing to volunteer in this capacity for race weekend and other SJA-supported sports events. We’ll put you in touch with the terrific team at SJA. – 8:00am-10:00am; 10:00am-2:00pm

Finish Line/Unpacking Medals – Arrive early to assist unpacking medals and organising them for finish chute volunteers. – 8:00am-10:00am

Finish Line/Chute Team – Report to Bermuda Timing System, assist Wayne Raynor, chute leader, with runners at finish line, help volunteers handing out medals to expedite finishers through chute. – 8:00am-2:00pm

Finish Line/Medal Presenters – Report to chute leader and organise medals on the stand. Congratulate runners as they come through finish chute, hang several medals on your arm in preparation to hand out, develop a rhythm to expedite finishers. – 8:30am-1:30pm

2025 Chubb Bermuda Triangle Challenge Volunteer Benefits

We are thrilled to offer the following benefits to all our volunteers to recognize your hard work in helping to make the event a success:

  • A 2025 Chubb Bermuda Triangle Challenge t-shirt;
  • A 2025 Chubb Bermuda Triangle Challenge jacket;
  • A Volunteer Appreciation Party to be held at Goslings Wine Cellar. Invitations will be sent out after the 2025 Chubb Bermuda Triangle Challenge race weekend. Please note that this event will be for adults only;
  • Raffle draws eligible to those that volunteer at least one spot over the race weekend. The raffle draw will be done after the 2025 Chubb Bermuda Triangle Challenge race weekend (to verify attendance) and include a variety of raffle prizes. Raffle prizes include:
    • 2 round-trip tickets on BermudAir to any of their in-network flight locations;
    • $50 dining vouchers, courtesy of the tremendous support from our friends at MEF, to be raffled out to those that volunteer at least one spot over the race weekend; and
    • $100 dining vouchers, again courtesy of MEF, to be raffled out to those who volunteer more than one spot over the race weekend.
  • There will also be loads of other raffle prizes for those who volunteer.

In addition, for schools, we are pleased to offer the following:

  • Community service hours for pupils; and
  • Donation opportunities for schools that provide significant volunteer resources.

Who volunteered with us in 2024?

We’ve crunched the numbers and 600 volunteers supported us at the Expo and number pick up, coordinating participant shuttles to/from race events, working as road marshals, handing out medals at finish lines, serving as greeters at the finish festivals and more!

These individuals pitched in over the course of the 3-day event weekend to help make it a success, including:

  • Individuals from the community volunteering at 9 water stops during Saturday and Sunday.

  • Students, teachers and parents from 7 schools volunteered at 11 water stops: Sandys Secondary, Port Royal Primary, Saltus Grammar School, Warwick Academy, Harrington Sound Primary, Whitney Institute Middle School, and West Pembroke Primary

  • 6 community groups had volunteers at water stops: Sandys Parish Council, Pilot Gig Club Boaz Island, Bermuda Red Cross, Bermuda Public Service Union, Bermuda Musical & Drama Society, and Clarence Smith & Family.

  • 2 of our sponsors had volunteers at water stops: Zurich and PwC Bermuda

  • 2 of our sponsors helped at finish lines: Volunteers from Butterfield Bank assisted at the Butterfield Mile on Friday, while volunteers from BF&M helped participants as they crossed the finish line of the BF&M 10k run/walk on Saturday
  • 1 sponsor had volunteers assisting with Expo preparation and setup: Global Atlantic Re
